SINGAPORE, 20 October 2026. DexaFit Asia Pte Ltd has won the 2026 Preventive Health Innovation of the Year in Asia-Pacific award from GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific, presented at the Aesthetics, Wellness & Longevity Awards 2026 in Jakarta. The award recognises the idea at the heart of DexaFit: measure and track the foundation a body relies on for decades, not the weight it carries today.
Recognition Built on More Than a Number
For people seeking to improve their health, a bathroom scale answers only one question: how much do I weigh? It is a useful starting point, but it cannot reveal whether weight lost came predominantly from fat or precious lean tissue, where fat is distributed, what is happening to bone, or how effectively the body uses oxygen (one of the strongest predictors of how long, and how well, people live). These distinctions matter to people pursuing sustainable weight management, physical performance and healthy ageing.
DexaFit answers these questions and more by combining DEXA scans of fat, lean tissue and bone with VO₂ Max and resting metabolic rate (RMR) testing, methods widely considered the gold standard and trusted for decades by hospitals, research labs and elite sports programmes. Together, these objective measures help individuals and the professionals guiding them establish a true baseline and build a personalised plan around it. More importantly, repeat tests track changes in fat, lean tissue, bone, fitness and energy expenditure over time, showing whether the plan is working and what works best for each person.
Why Precision Matters Now
The importance of these measures is increasingly visible across Asia. Singapore’s Population in Brief 2025 projects that approximately one in four citizens will be aged 65 or older by 2030. As more people focus on maintaining strength, mobility and independence later in life, muscle, bone and cardiovascular fitness become important parts of the conversation.
Research has also linked cardiorespiratory fitness to long-term health outcomes. A large 2018 observational study published in JAMA Network Open found a strong association between higher cardiorespiratory fitness and lower long-term mortality. Separately, the growing use of GLP-1 medicines for weight management has brought renewed attention to the composition of weight loss, including the importance of monitoring lean tissue and bone alongside fat.
From Individual Tests to Personal Health Intelligence
Founded in the US in 2011, DexaFit develops technology trusted by clinicians, researchers, elite sports teams and athletes across four continents. That reach has built what DexaFit describes as one of the world’s largest longitudinal datasets of its kind, tracking body composition, fitness and metabolism in the same people over years. In Singapore, DexaFit Asia brings DEXA, VO₂ Max and RMR testing together as complementary ways to assess body composition, fitness and energy expenditure.
Beyond the tests themselves, DexaFit brings each person’s results together in DexaFit 360, one report that shows how the body’s structure and function are changing over time. Its research team is already working on what comes next, including more detailed regional body mapping and new ways to interpret muscle and other physiological measurements.
A Vision for More Informed Decisions
“For too long, people have had to make important decisions about their health using approximations and partial signals. At DexaFit, we believe the future belongs to precision, a future where every individual can understand their own biology with clarity, see precisely how their body is changing and act on that knowledge with confidence. Our ambition is not simply to generate more health data. It is to establish a new standard of personalised health intelligence, one that puts the power of advanced measurement into people’s hands and enables them to live leaner, stronger, longer.”
